How to answer in Japan
Do not stop at はい. Add that you can get here reliably.
⭕️ A good answer
はい。歩いて十分なので、朝も早く来られます。
Yes. It is ten minutes on foot, so I can come early in the morning too.
❌ Not enough
はい、そうです。
“Yes, that's right.” What they actually want to know is whether you can get to work on time. Say that part.
