Support this project
This site is free, and it will stay free. The stories, the interview questions, the audio, the furigana — none of it will ever go behind a paywall.
I make it because I want more people to like Japanese, not because I want to charge them for it. But it does take real time and real money to keep going: hosting, the text-to-speech I use for the audio, and the hours spent checking every line against a native speaker before it goes up.
If this site has helped you, a small tip helps me keep making more of it. There is no subscription and no tier — just a one-off amount, whatever feels right to you.
As a thank-you, anyone who tips gets a link to a storybook page by email — a PDF for every folk tale on the site so far, illustrated, with furigana and romaji, made to print and read without a screen. New stories keep getting added there.
No pressure, though. Everything here stays free either way, and reading the stories is support enough.
