Do you have your residence card? — asked at the city office counter
「在留カードは、お持ちですか。」
How to answer in Japan
★When you move, you must tell the city office of your new address within 14 days. Bring your residence card. ★When you hand over the card, say in one sentence why you came. City office counters are split by procedure, so they cannot send you to the right place until they know. For example: 引っ越したので、住所の変更に来ました (I moved, so I came to change my address).
⭕️ A good answer
はい、これです。引っ越したので、住所の変更に来ました。
Yes, here it is. I moved, so I came to change my address.
❌ Not enough
(黙って在留カードだけ出す)
Handing over the card without a word. They still do not know what you came for.

Where this comes from
Every question here comes from an interview on video, from a published guide to applying and interviewing in Japan, or from teachers explaining Japanese interviews in Nepali. Where a question turns on an official rule, the official page is listed as well. These are the sources for this one.
