ある日ひ、北風きたかぜと太陽たいようが、けんかをしていました。
One day, the North Wind and the Sun were arguing.
北風きたかぜは、言いいました。
The North Wind said,
「私わたしの方ほうが、力ちからが強つよい。」
"I am stronger."
太陽たいようは、言いいました。
The Sun said,
「いいえ、私わたしの方ほうが、強つよいです。」
"No, I am stronger."
そのとき、下したの道みちを、旅人たびびとが歩あるいていました。

旅人たびびとは、暖あたたかい上着うわぎを着きていました。
